7/14/2012 - SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Where in the world is Wen-dy Lo-pe-do-te?
Just substitute my name for "Carmen San Diego" from the popular 1990's children's show and you'll get the gist of our upcoming interactive series on the 916th Air Refueling Wing's Facebook and Twitter pages.
Starting July 29, I will be traveling the world (well, at least the contiguous Unites States) writing about an often overlooked military benefit - travel discounts and freebies.
The interactive part comes in where readers will get to guess where I am based on clues I post on Facebook and Twitter from different places around the U.S.
The first person to correctly guess on Facebook or Twitter where I am that day and what military benefit I'm using will receive a souvenir from that location upon my return.
Along with the almost daily social media posts, the 916th ARW official website will a series of articles with specific details about the military discounts and freebies I found along the way.
So brush up on your geography, put on your Sherlock Holmes hat and be prepared to solve some travel mysteries this summer.
