7/19/2012 - SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C.  -- An Airman assigned to the 567th RED HORSE Squadron was presented with the Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Kinston for his service in the U.S. Air Force and the community, here June 28.

"This year I decided to present the Rotary's top award to someone who lives by (the club's) motto, 'Service above Service,' each day," said Becky Hines, Rotary Club of Kinston Past-President.

The Paul Harris Fellow is normally given to a Rotarian who has donated $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation, but each year the club's president has the opportunity to distinguish someone of their choosing.

Senior Airman Ashton Brinson, RED HORSE vehicle maintainer, is one of the youngest people the club has ever recognized with the honor.

Brinson's family members, supervisor and commander were also in attendance when the award was presented.

"Brinson is an outstanding RED HORSE Airman and did a great job while deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan," said Col. Timothy Lamb, RED HORSE commander. "I was very proud to witness the presentation of this award. To receive such an award at his age is an honor for him and shows what a remarkable young man he is both serving in the Air Force and the community."
