7/17/2012 - SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Master Sgt. Wendell Smalls had some big shoes to fill.
But he wasn't worried.
Smalls took over the 916th Seasoning Training Flight from Senior Master Sgt. Jeff Williams a few months ago, and just a few weeks ago he graduated his first class.
The STF originated as a way to provide oversight for reservists coming back from technical schools and performing on-the-job training at the wing. The flight meets weekly to discuss topics ranging from study skills to financial management. They also meet for physical fitness activities and community service projects.
In early July nearly 15 reservists completed their 12-week training course with the STF and received their certificates of completion.
