916th Public Affairs Office
7/6/2012 - SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Tech. Sgt. Kevin Davis recently provided some news to his employer.
The news wasn't of an impending deployment, or extended leave for military duty, but rather it was that the Kerry Group would receive the Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
Davis, a reservist in the 916th Air Refueling Wing Chaplain's Office, nominated his employer earlier this year.
"The Kerry Group is a really great company to work for," said Davis. "They are so helpful with working with me as far as my reserve time and they continue my pay while I attend annual training."
Since the company is headquartered in Missouri, Bob Schure, ESGR awards coordinator for Missouri, was also present to help Davis present the award to his supervisor, Megan Eads.
"Megan just came back from her honeymoon and had no idea that she was receiving the award. so it was a really great experience," said Davis. "She could not wait to tell her dad, who is former military, she said he will be so proud."
