6/19/2012 - SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Two new commanders joined the ranks of the 916th Air Refueling in June.
One is a new face, the other is quite familiar.
Lt. Col. Dave Pike took the reigns of command from Lt. Col. Phil Heseltine during a ceremony on June 15. Pike will command the nearly 300 active-duty Airmen of the 911th Air Refueling Squadron. Heseltine will serve as the deputy commander for the 916th Operations Group. Both are full-time, active duty Airmen that have served with the 916th since 2010.
During the June drill weekend, Lt. Col. Joseph Mercurio assumed command of the 916th Logistics Readiness Squadron. Mercurio is a traditional reservist and will comand the nearly 100 reservists that support tranportation, fuels, supply and logistics planning for the 916th Air Refueling Wing.
